The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo annouced this week the approval of its 2018 tax rate bylaw.
The 2018 tax bylaw includes a reduction in property taxes and a reduction in the tax ratio between rural non-residential and rural residential tax rates. The tax rate for rural non-residential properties was reduced by 16%, while the rural residential tax rate increased by 5%. Tax rates for urban residential, urban non-residential and other residential properties increased by 5%.
While these bylaw changes highlight reductions, there may still be an increase on your 2018 tax bill.
Tax notices will be issued in May, with a due date of June 29, 2018.
